The fantastic nature in the Okstind area offers many hiking opportunities, and with the trail network and the cabins around the Okstind massif, it is easily accessible. The area has 4 natural gateways: Leirskardalen, Brygfjelldalen, Nord-Røsvatnet and Kjennsvatnet (road in summer).On the north and west side, Hemnes Turistforening has 4 cabins of a good standard, and on the south side is Stekvasselv Gård (open all year). Rabothytta is serviced in the summer - the other 3 HTF cabins are usually unattended.The round trip takes 3-4 days depending on the pace of the march. The shortest route of the distance is about 60 km in the terrain +12 km along a paved road. The longest route in the terrain is about 70 km in the terrain and 2 km along the road.
